For the future of technical cleanliness.
As a highly specialized testing laboratory for technical cleanliness (VDA 19.1) and with a high level of consulting expertise for cleanliness in assembly (VDA 19.2), CleanControlling recognized the opportunities and possibilities of dry extraction methods very early on. As a specialist in "flow-through air extraction", CleanControlling has many years of experience with these methods. CleanControlling has been a pioneer in this field since 2010 and is still the only test laboratory in the world to have a special test rig for flow-through air extraction, particularly for complex components in the intake tract. With this expertise, CleanControlling worked on the development of suction extraction from 2016 and, with scientific support, carried out intensive fluidic tests for the non-destructive removal and separation of particles. Based on this fundamental research, the first C|PS² suction extraction system was patented in 2018 and established as a supplementary extraction method for a new range of e-mobility components.
To investigate the effectiveness of classic extraction methods (spraying, blowing off) and suction extraction, a working group of ZVEI e. V. conducted a comprehensive study in 2021 with a large-scale series of tests with various electrical and electronic assemblies. (German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association), with the active participation of CleanControlling, conducted a comprehensive study with a large-scale series of tests on various electrical and electronic assemblies. For this purpose, several components of HV connectors, connector strips and printed circuit boards were taken from the same production batch and tested and analyzed using the three extraction methods. The statistical evaluation showed that the methods are comparable with each other. This paved the way for use in industry with the new requirements and the changed range of components. Nothing stood in the way of inclusion in the new VDA 19.1.
The further developed C|PS³apex and C|PS³flex suction extraction systems for particulate cleanliness analysis meet all the requirements of VDA 19.1 published in 2025. (Brush) suction extraction enables efficient and reproducible particle extraction and is therefore ideal for complex geometries in particular. The systems impress with their ergonomic design, digital control and high level of user-friendliness. Users benefit from precise results and standard-compliant implementation. An innovation for 2025 is the lightweight and compact C|PS³ flex system for mobile use. Thanks to the integrated digital volume flow display, the volume flow can be monitored in accordance with the future VDA 19.1.
