Particle contamination in oils

CleanControlling carries out analyses of oil cleanliness according to ISO 4406 with the material microscopic method according to ISO 4407 ("Hydraulic fluid power - Fluid contamination - Determination of particulate contamination by the counting method using an optical microscope"). For the microscopic analysis, the particle contamination of the fluid to be analysed is diluted with a suitable solvent and separated on the analysis filter (cellulose nitrate 0.8 µm) by analysis filtration. The microscopic analysis is carried out using an automatic material microscope from 5 µm (alternatively also from 2 µm) particle size.. The result is reported according to ISO 4406 code by count per size class per 100 ml of liquid.

Profile

Typical industries Mechanical engineering, Commercial vehicle/agricultural/construction machinery industry, Manufacturers of hydraulic components, Automotive and automotive supply industry
Type of contamination Particulate contamination or solids in liquid petroleum products
Result Number of particles according to ISO 4406 code for the size ranges > 5 µm / > 15 µm in relation to the amount of liquid in ml
Test object oil or aqueous solution, sample quantity 100 ml ± 5 ml, sampling by client with clean sample bottle
